Welcome to the blog! I cant wait for you all to join me as I document my journey across the vast and varied landscapes of the wild west! For those readers who are here and dont know me or my mother (lets be honest), my name is Gabe and I am currently on the road in my self-converted minivan. I am traveling from the frozen prairies of North Dakota to the warm(I'm hoping) coast of California and I will be sharing my experiences, photographs, and maybe even the occasional musing on life on the road. So sit back, grab a cup of coffee, and join me as I travel west!
The Van
Now you might be asking, Gabe what vehicle could possibly get you across half of the country while also being your home?!
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the 2008 Chrysler Town and Country. This beauty is the Quittach World Cup tent for roadtrips: it may look small on the outside, but on the inside, it is a luxurious living experience. With just over 145,000 miles and an engine light that turns on every other day for no apparent reason, its the perfect vehicle to make my home!
I spent the past few months building out the van to be the perfect road home on the road. With a convertable bench/bed, full kitchen, and lighting/electrical setup, I couldnt be happier with how it turned out!
Currently taking name suggestions for the van!
Please send me your thoughts:)
So Gabe, what's next???
I will be on the road for the next 4 months and I have seperated out my trip into a few different legs.
- 1.Traveling West:
- Minnesota ---> North Dakota
- North Dakota ---> Montana
- Montana ---> Vancouver
- 2.Heading South:
- Vancouver ---> Seattle
- Seattle ---> Oregon
- Oregon ---> HWY1 to LA/Palm Desert
- 3.Back to the Midwest:
- Palm Desert ---> Utah
- Utah ---> Colorado (Hi Patrick!)
- Colorado ---> Back to MN!
I will be posting blogs and photos from each section of my trip so stay tuned!
